Chuck VanderVennet will once again MC this year's Festival as he has done for many years. His easy-going manner ties all of our divergent performances together. And his introductions and reminders to the audience of their part in supporting our talented guests and the festival are gentle and effective.
From Mundelein, Illinois, Chuck plays a wide variety of music, including an occasional original composition. He uses sing-along and "fun" songs to involve the audience during his performances. Children (of all ages) can join in during his family programs. He teaches children about the guitar when he plays for them at school and day-care programs.
Chuck is a veteran of performances at The Lake County Folk Club in Wauconda, Illinois, at a number of summer festivals, and on WFMT's Midnight Special New Year's Show. He presents theme-based programs. He doesn't let the fact that he is an attorney get in the way of having fun with music.
