Woodstock Folk Festival

July 19, 2010

Dear Friends,

Thank you so VERY much for making our 25th Annual Woodstock Folk Festival such a wonderful success yesterday! All of our performers were great and our audience appreciated both the quality and variety of music. We know that performing outdoors on a hot day can be difficult but every performer was truly wonderful! It was a very special treat to have Bonnie Koloc perform at the concert at the Woodstock Opera House as well as the Festival and how wonderful to have Bonnie invite Hilary, Stuart, and Meg to join her onstage. We're very happy that many of you stayed for much of the day and were able to listen to each other and get to know each other. We also appreciate many of you staying for our All-Sing Finale, a Festival tradition since it began. To each of you who performed, we thank you for coming to Woodstock. And to those of you representing our performers, please pass on this message; we give you and them our heartfelt thanks. Thanks also to Laura for the informative and enjoyable guitar workshop.

I also want to thank all of our "Best of Woodstock" organizations for their work throughout each year and for all of their participants in yesterday's performances at the Main Stage and later at Stage Left Cafe.

I also want to thank all of those who assisted us yesterday. Thank you, Chuck and Rich, for making the day run so smoothly. Thank you to Maurice, Chris, and Andy for a great job on sound. Thanks to Mark for coordinating the Open Mike. Thanks to Martha and Gene for coordinating the Children's Area and to Laura and Lia for performing there.

Thank you to Amy Beth for founding this wonderful Festival and contributing for so many years.

Thank you to our web master Alvin Orzechowski for his work during the year and his support of the Festival for many years.

Thanks to all of the volunteers who made things work. There's a lot to be done on Festival day and it's always great to have such wonderful helpers. I hope those of you who are in touch with our volunteers will give them another hearty "thank you" on our behalf.

Most of all, thank you to our fabulous team, my fellow board members, Ray Beth, Neal Brown, Martha Hoar, and Annemarie Serra. All of you contribute so much all year long but then put in an even more extraordinary effort on the day of the Festival. Whether it's staffing Festival Central, selling CDs and other merchandise, making sure all of the children and parents have a great time, or making sure performers have whatever they need -- or the myriad other tasks during Festival Day -- I thank you for the wonderful job you did yesterday. The music, the camaraderie, the sense of community, AND the lack of rain made this a truly glorious day and a most successful 25th Annual Woodstock Festival.

Warmly,

Carol Obertubbesing
President, Woodstock Folk Festival
